About Thibaut

Founded in 1886 by Richard E. Thibaut in New York City, Thibaut is the oldest continuously operating wallpaper company in the United States. From its earliest days the firm was built on a commitment to fine design and the choicest colorings, a guiding principle that still shapes its collections nearly 140 years later. Across the 20th century its wallcoverings became fixtures of American interiors, with celebrated patterns like Memory Lane and Magnolia Hill defining a distinctly American decorative tradition.

Today Thibaut pairs that heritage with a deep design archive and a steadily expanding portfolio of wallcoverings, fabrics, and trimmings. Its patterns range from classic florals, damasks, and toiles to fresh geometrics and textures, prized for their richly considered colorways, refined drawing, and enduring style. It is this balance of archival depth and contemporary sensibility that makes a Thibaut wallcovering instantly recognizable.

Thibaut is available in collaboration with Designer Wallcoverings.

The Grand Palace collection introduces 100 SKUs that evoke a traditional elegance with chinoiserie inspired designs, a style created in Europe from influences of tales and travels to the Far East. These wallcoverings with coordinating print, woven, and embroidered fabrics offer a unique juxtaposition of fanciful patterns featuring pagodas and Asian scenics with geometric companions and unexpected colors.
